Continued prayers please

Dear friends, it’s Jamie again.  I am writing to update you on Jen’s status.  After 3 long weeks in the hospital, Jen is back at home.  She completed 15 days of whole brain radiation, which knocked her out for lack of a better term.  That, plus the progression of her cancer has really taken a toll.  Most of her days and nights are spent sleeping.   Her body is frail, her voice is weak, but her spirit is still very strong.  (Those of you who know her well will not be surprised by that.)  Thank you so much for your prayers as she is now resting comfortably and surrounded by loved ones.  And thank you for respecting the privacy of the family at this time.  The very best way you can love the Clouse family is by sending a card, commenting on this blog and/or by continuing to pray for Jen, Scott, Lincoln and Jane.

God continues to show up in big ways.  He is present in the details.  We continue to praise Him despite difficult circumstances, and know that He loves Jen even more than we do.

Thank you so much for your faithful companionship on this journey.  It is so appreciated.

Much love to you all,

Jamie

**As a side note, Jen’s phone stopped working about 2 weeks ago.  If you have sent a text to her during that time and did not get a response, that is why.  Again, sending a card or commenting on this blog is the best way to communicate for now.

    You are so loved!!!!!!

  10. Continuing to lift you and your sweet family up to the Lord, Jen. So very grateful for the good fight you have fought. For the way your faith has not waivered, for the amazing example you have been me and to so many others. I love you, friend.

  11. My beautiful cousin- I love you. I love you.

I think about you always and I lift you, Scott, Linc and Jane up in prayer every morning when I wake and night before I sleep.
    I love you.
You have been so important to me my whole life but especially this past year (and you and Scott know why). You motivate me to be stronger in faith and move me to draw closer to the Lord, lean into Him to walk with grace through my fears. Because of you I know I can walk through anything as long as I have that “tight grip” on the Lord’s hand I’m “ok”. Even when I’m not “ok” I’m still “ok”. I learned that from you. Thank you for that.
(I’ve been texting you like we normally do over the past couple of weeks. Happy to have found out I should use other avenues to get through to you! Thank you Jamie)

    Love,
    Mollie

  12. Sending prayers from Clearwater, FL., for you and family. Praying that you will be blessed by all who surround you, as I’m sure you are to them.

  13. Praying for you and Scott and Lincoln. I was just reminiscing with a few Watermark Women about our very first retreat in 2002 at the Cooper Center. That was the first time I heard you and Lucina teach. It was such a fun sweet time and I remember how much your words drew me to the Lord. Thank you for that! I pray He brings supernatural healing to your body.

  14. Praying for you, Jen, and Scott and Lincoln. Trusting each one of you with the only One who can sustain, heal, refresh and grant peace. You encourage and inspire me, Jen. I love you!

  27. Dear Jen, You don’t know me. I started following your blog when big mama mentioned you in her blog a couple years ago. I have yet to go back in the archives to read it from the beginning but plan to one day. I just wanted to say how much you have impacted my life. I am a Christian so I especially appreciate your sweet spirit and the tenacious way you hold on to His promises. Your journey with this cancer and how you are handling it is so many things-inspiring, sad, inciteful to name a few. I know how it has affected me so I’m pretty sure it is also affecting others the same way. When the time comes for me to face a journey like yours, I know who I’m going to think of. God, of course, but then you and how you have handled this whole thing. You have done it well with joy and grace. If that’s why you started this blog then you succeeded. My prayers are for you and your family members and friends. May God give y’all peace.

  28. I start each day with fervent prayers and end each night with the same.
Asking for relief for all of you and lifting up Jen to the one who loves her most.
So sorry you are all going through this. Sending love.

  37. Dear Jenn,
We have followed you always through your battle with this insidious disease and stand in awe of your grace, strength, character, and faith. You inspire one and all. We will continue our prayers, sweet one. Rest peacefully. With love, Sharon and BJ

  38. Jen, you have been in my constant thoughts and prayers. Thankful for you and how God has used your life to serve Him in SO many areas of your life. You have made Him known and brought Him glory even in the most difficult circumstances (and even with humor). Though you don’t know me, I’ve heard from others ways you’ve encouraged them and was really encouraged with your talk on Heaven as it brought healing to me after the loss of my brother last August. Continued prayers to you, your family, and friends.

  39. Sweet Jennifer, we love you SO much and thank God for your life, and for the impact you’ve had on both of us. You were such a faithful friend to Todd for so many years, and then I had the privilege of getting to know you and be taught by you (I still remember being in awe the first time I heard you teach!). Your life has been a precious gift to us, and watching you faithfully walk this path of suffering has deepened our own faith and made us long for heaven more than ever. We are praying for you and your precious family, for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We love you so much.
    Love, Todd and Rebecca

  40. Praying for you Jen and the whole Clouse family right now. You are such a beautiful example of a light for Christ in a dark world. I am blessed to watch from afar how you have never given in to despair despite the attack on and failing of your physical body. I owe a significant debt to you and your teaching over me (and so many other women) that shaped my faith at such a vulnerable season of my walk with Jesus. Even now you are an example to follow. Thank you. May God continue to be ever-present with you and your loves ones.

  41. Jen, you are in my daily prayers. May you and your family not just know, but truly FEEL, the comfort, peace, and the warmth of the incredible love of Our Dear Lord.

  42. We are praying for all of you. Jen – you have always been such an encourager and joy to both Scott and myself and we love you dearly.

  43. Thank you to Don Dinnerville for sharing Jen’s story. I don’t know her or the family, but have been praying and will continue to do so. Praying for you all. Cynthia Wiley, Sarasota, FL.

  44. Jen, Scott, Lincoln- y’all have been in our thoughts and prayers constantly. I know the Lord is so near to you and that brings great comfort knowing you’re so tightly in the palm of His hand. Jen, I’ve told you before, but the Lord used you and your teaching to bring me back to him, lifted me out of the pit I didn’t even know I needed rescuing from and showed me there was a better way. Then to know you personally years later is a sweet gift. What a faithful woman showing the ultimate example of a life well lived. I love you.

  45. I think of all of you often. I pray for His peace to cover you, His comfort to hold you and His strength to carry you each and every moment. Though I don’t know you well, it is very evident that you are all loved so dearly.

  46. Prayers for Jen, Scott, Lincoln, and Jane. I don’t know you personally, but have been praying and will continue.

  47. Jen, you don’t know the influence you had on my life during the days when we both went to Beloved. . Your teaching was so powerful and I would leave so full of God’s Spirit! Your love for Jesus and the power he could give permeated the room. I pray your strong spirit will continue and He will surround you and your loved ones with grace, comfort and peace. Much love!!

  48. I am grateful for the update, as I was wondering status… May God strengthen each of you, uphold you, and provide all you need and more.

    • Wanting you and yours to know how many times a day you cross my mind, Jennifer. I continue to pray for God’s strength and peace as this journey gets harder for you and your family and close friends. Knowing His grace is sufficient in all life’s situations for those that believe in Him is a comfort to us that love you, for you have been that beautiful example, and more, to all of us as you have walked this cancer road. May God comfort you beyond understanding in the hours you are awake and with your loved ones.

my love, prayers and concern are yours………….

From 10 years ago when I heard you speak at Highlight to a friends wedding a few years ago getting to give you a big hug and most recently the honor of praying for you and your family as you fight this battle. 60. Praying for your body this morning, Jen with a heavy heart that perhaps the Holy Spirit was prompting His children to lift your name to Him. He was. Jamie, thank you for the update.
Your body must be weary, but take comfort in the knowledge that Jesus never grows weary. He hears every prayer. He sees every tear and He grieves that this imperfect world tarries at the expense of His children suffering. But, as your body is struggling, your witness and your faith continues to draw others close to Him. Even now, God is using you, Jen to bring hope to those who need it. Your testimony is a witness of His power even in the midst of the storm. Stay strong and know that your name is being lifted to the Lord constantly.

  61. You have been heavy on my thoughts Jennifer these past days. Thank you Jen for the update. We love you and are praying peace and comfort for you, Scott and Linc. Kathy and Doug

  62. As with everyone else, I pray for you, Jen, and all your loved ones enduring this season with you. May God Almighty continue to show Himself in ways that only He can. You will always be on my heart and in my prayers.

  63. To Jen and Scott and family. Praying for you all that God will grant peace and understanding to all, that Jen is comfortable. but those who hope in the Lord. I love this scripture Isaiah 40:31
    will renew their strength.
    They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint

And to Jamie. Thank you for your updates and your obvious love for Jen.

  64. Thinking about & praying for you & your family. I’m glad you’re finally able to be at home, but sorry & sad for what you’re going through. You continue to inspire me. Love you so much!

  65. Jennifer, praying this over you all:
“We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.” I Corinthians 4:7-10

    Love you all!

  66. praying for peace and comfort for y’all…
“We have this certain hope- like a strong unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself.” Hebrews 6:11 Praying that you would feel anchored to God.

  67. Praying for Scott, Lincoln, Jen and Friends! You have fought the fight and kept the faith and what a testimony to God’s amazing love and power!!! May you all continue in the peace and comfort of His sweet mercies that are new every morning! You all have ministered to so many by your example of faithfulness. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. We love you and can rest in knowing…you’re in good hands:) ❤ The McJunkins

  68. Praying for God’s strength as the good fight is fought knowing He is welcoming you into His rest. One day we will meet and we will both smile! Thank you Jamie for your friendship to Jen and to us. God cover all of you down there. Prayers from Colorado.

  69. Praying for Scott, Lincoln, Jane & Jen. For peace, comfort and mercies. Jen, you live and love in a way that is such a gift to so many. My mind is flooded with memories of:
-being spurred on by your intimate love for Him
-challenged by your speaking God’s word at every possible opportunity
-being so loved and comforted by your care and concern for me during a difficult time

His grip on all of you is mighty and strong. We love you, The Anders

  70. Continuing to pray for you, Jen, Scott, Lincoln and Jane. Jen, you are a bright light to all you touch. Thank you for always being a sweet friend to me. 71. ❤️ We love you and your family so much. 🙏 Prays for everyone. Thankful for all the family time your an great addition to the family. Thanks so much for your strength and sharing your love of God. Again, ❤️ Love you. 😘

  72. Jen won’t remember me, but I will never forget her- her spunk, cheerfulness, energy, optimism and faith were visible to everyone around her. I met Jen at Watermark in 2004 when I went through CR. She made such an impact on me even from a distance. I moved to another state, but 10 years later I started reading Melanie’s blog and realized her dear friend Jen was someone I knew. Small world. Anyway, I just wanted to send a message to let Jen know I have been praying for her and continue to do so for all of you by her side. She is an amazing woman, and I am blessed that my path crossed hers even if for a brief moment.

  73. Jen, I love you. Been praying for you and your family and reflecting over the weekend on our sweet friendship. Even found myself having a memory of Africa (remember that trip?!) and all those nights that you stayed up late with all of us helping us with our teaching lessons! Why didn’t you teach all of ours??!! I bet we asked you to. 😉 Anything that I know from God’s word came from you teaching it to me and I love that. Praying for abundant peace, for your sweet one Linc and Scott…..you are LOVED, my friend.

  74. Thinking and praying for strength, comfort, courage and Gods peace upon you all. Grateful to know that this is a hope filled story that at the end of the story results in being at the feet of Jesus in worship. How majestic is that!

  75. Praying with deep sorrow for Jen, family & friends…. And, strangely, peace and hope for Jen’s next journey. As C. S. Lewis wrote, this life is “only the cover and the title page: now at last (she will be) beginning Chapter One of the Great Story, which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.” (The Last Battle)
Because Jesus has fought the Last Battle, we know we will meet again. And for those of us who are left, we will look forward to seeing Jen again (or in my case, meeting her in person)! Jen, please give my only-born, Michael Zachary Mucha, a big hug and birthday kiss ( if you get there by August 10th). Regardless, tell him his mama loves him so much, and thinks of him every day (all 27 years!)! (Just as Lincoln will be carry your love always until you two are reunited!) You have fought the good fight and are finishing the race…. Thank you for the inspiration and the example you have been. May we all shine so brightly with God’s glorious light.
    In Christ,
    Paige from Illinois

  76. Jen, You’ve meant so much to our family along with all your faithful and dedicated friends! Love and prayers to you, Scott Linc and Jane

  77. Praying for mercy for Jenn and strength for Scott and Jane; and God’s incredible love for our precious Lincoln.
    All our love,
    Bill and Ramona Hite

  78. Dear Jen and family – you don’t know me, and I don’t really know you, but I’ve been following your journey for the past few years. I think of you all often – please know hours of prayers are coming from California

  79. Jen, I have not stopped thinking of you and your family and praying for y’all since reading this last update a few weeks ago. You have been heavy on my heart. I can’t even begin to tell you how much of an impact you and Cynthia had on my faith in my early 20’s (I just turned 36), and to this day, I still quote things I remember you saying in Highlight. I live in DC now and my Community Bible Study class is studying the Israelites return to Jerusalem after their exile this fall, and I, no doubt, will be remembering so much of what I learned from you in our Pentateuch study in one of my first years in Highlight. I can see it now…you writing on the overhead projector the Israelites cycle of sin and rebellion, remembrance, and restoration. 🙂 In fact, I still have all of my Highlight binders. Thank you for being such an amazing example of a Godly woman, living your faith, and being a true servant and faithful follower of Jesus. You remain in my prayers as I hope you, Scott and Lincoln are experiencing His peace, comfort and feeling His love around you.
    -Emily

  80. Jen and Scott, Just to tell you that Beverly and I love you very much and have been praying for you.

  81. Dearest Jenn,

Oh how my heart and thoughts are toward you in these days dear friend…You have had an incredible impact on my life. I can remember being in my early 20’s living in Dallas and just finishing college…and you were one of my first Bible study teachers to teach me how to love the Lord and His word! How I loved being a part of Highlight with you…I always looked to you as an example of how a single woman walks the the Lord with all her heart…and then to see you walk in the joy of being a wife and mom! Oh friend, it was my honor to be a small part of your journey at MD Anderson…The love and light of Jesus shines thru you! I’m still over here in the Middle East…serving dear refugee families…been here almost 2 years now! Just wanted to say hello and that I love you and you’ll always be in my heart, dear treasured friend.
